Minimum Safe Manning Document 

The application form is used to assess and determine the minimum safe manning in accordance with the Danish Act on the Manning of Ships and IMO resolutions A.890(21) and A.955(23).

For ships registered in Greenland, the minimum safe manning is determined in accordance with Decree no. 608 of 25 June 2001 on the entry into force for Greenland of the Danish Act on the Manning of Ships.

Safe Manning simulation tool
The Danish Maritime Authority has – in cooperation with Force Technology and the Technical University of Denmark – developed a Safe Manning simulation tool to be used by all relevant parties, i.e. shipowners, national trade organisations, authorities, etc., in order to improve the decision support in establishing Safe Manning or optimising the shipboard organisation, including the distribution of work tasks between the crewmembers and the shore-based organisation. New electronic application form to be implemented in 2011
The Danish Maritime Authority has implemented a new electronic interactive application form to be used by shipowners when assessing and determining the basis for the issuance of the Minimum Safe Manning Document in accordance with the Danish Act on the Manning of Ships and IMO resolutions A.890(21) and A.955(23).
