Quality Shipping
The promotion of quality shipping is something which Denmark considers
as one of its most important tasks. Quite simply because in the
long run it is clearly the only sustainable way forward for the maritime
world – both in economic as well as safety and environmental terms.
By quality shipping we mean promoting the highest standards of
health, safety and environmental protection together with high commercial
competitiveness. It is primarily up to the ship owners to
ensure and heighten the level of quality. Their success depends on
their understanding of this as not just crucial, but also as a positive
opportunity for their shipping business.
The Danish Maritime Authority has taken the lead in promoting quality
shipping. In fact, we have made it the focal point of our activities. In
our international work and our daily contact with ship owners, the
results we create are designed to be useful, valuable and readily
apparent to everyone. We have the courage to think new and big
thoughts – and to find solutions which work in everyday life.
We are determined to ensure the proper conditions and competencies
which enable competitive maritime companies to stay and grow
in Denmark. Every day we strive to raise the quality of shipping
through our cooperation within “The Blue Denmark”. We exist for
those around us. This means that we take pride in listening and providing
framework conditions which benefit all our stakeholders.
Placing quality shipping at the top of the agenda involves knowledge,
commitment, perseverance and the ability to take initiatives.
Although it might be hard work, we are certain that we have taken
the right course.
