 Ballast water management conference

The Danish Nature Agency, the Danish Shipowners’ Association and the Danish Maritime Authority jointly invite you for the Copenhagen International Ballast Water Management Conference 2012 to be held on 8 March 2012.

The conference will be held at Hotel Marriott in Copenhagen, and the day will focus on issues and challenges in connection with the IMO Ballast Water Management Convention.

There is a detailed program for the day, the headlines of which are as follows:

  • Status of the ratification process and bottlenecks
  • The challenges seen from a shipowner perspective
  • The risk related to spread of alien and invasive species
  • The need for ballast water treatment
  • European implementation of the ballast water management convention
  • Status of approved treatment systems
