Bill adopted – amendment of the act on maritime training programmes

17. December 2010
On 16 December 2010, Danish Parliament unanimously adopted Minister for Economic and Business Affairs Brian Mikkelsen’s bill proposing to amend the act on maritime training programmes.

On 16 December 2010, Danish Parliament unanimously adopted Minister for Economic and Business Brian Mikkelsen’s bill proposing to amend the act on maritime training programmes.

The act is a follow-up on the cross-ministerial report “Self-governing institutions – management, regulation and efficiency” from 2009 (only available in Danish under the Danish title “Selvejende institutioner – styring, regulering og effektivitet”), which contains, among other things, an overall model of future-oriented regulation of private foundations receiving state grants.

The act adjusts the regulations on grants as well as those on accounting and auditing of the maritime training institutions. In addition, a few minor adjustments are made of the provisions on the institutions, their statutes, etc. and on the composition of boards.

The act will enter into force on 1 January 2011.

The bill – no. L 39 – is available in Danish from the website of the Danish Parliament www.ft.dk.
