Danish Maritime Authority concludes agreement with Southwest Jutland Hospital about Radio Medical functions
Following a procurement process, the Danish Maritime Authority has decided to conclude an agreement about the Radio Medical function with the Southwest Jutland Hospital, which also carries out this task today.

The new agreement will run from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2013 with the possibility of extending it for a period of up to two years.
Radio Medical is a part of the Danish maritime health system, and the Radio Medical function consists in providing medical advice for medical examiners on board Danish-registered merchant and fishing vessels. Every year, Radio Medical answers about 1,200 enquiries from Danish ships.
At regular intervals, tenders are invited for the Radio Medical function in accordance with national Danish regulations to ensure the best possible connection between the quality and the State’s payment.
Director Lisbet Dyerberg says:
“ – Radio Medical is an important part of the maritime health system. The choice of the Southwest Jutland Hospital ensures the possibility of offering medical advice to Danish ships at a high level by a team with great experience within the field of maritime medicine. This helps ensure a high standard of working and living conditions on board Danish ships at any time.”
