China and Denmark have long-standing relations in shipping Already in 1974, Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping signed the first maritime agreement between Denmark and China.
In 2000, the agreement was enhanced with the Memorandum of Understanding on Amendment to the Maritime Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Denmark. This agreement was supplemented by the EU-China Maritime Transport Agreement in 2002.
