Marine Accident Report: Occupational accident, 30 October 2009 on board the container ship Estelle Mærsk
On 30 October 2009, two engineers became seriously injured when hit by hot fuel oil splashing out during work on the main engine.
This incident that has some common features with two other occupational accidents in 2009 and 2009 where engineers also were hit by splashing hot oil.
The Division for Investigation of Maritime Accidents has issued a report on this incident. The report is also briefly referring to the other two occupational accidents.
