Professor Preben Terndrup Pedersen awarded this year’s Maritime Prize
On Friday 5 March 2010, one of the maritime world’s most brilliant researchers received the Maritime Prize, namely Professor Preben Terndrup Pedersen from the Technical University of Denmark.

Preben Terndrup Pedersen is awarded the prize for his pioneer work within modern ship design.
The prize was presented by Minister for Economic and Business Affairs Brian Mikkelsen, who in his speech singled out Preben Terndrup Pedersen as a key person within the development of the technological framework of modern Danish shipping.
The Minister for Economic and Business Affairs says, “Denmark depends on research and innovation, which is to form the basis of the growth necessary to ensure our future. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I have awarded Professor Preben Terndrup Pedersen the Maritime Prize today. The research and ground-breaking ideas of Professor Terndrup have helped ensure greater safety at sea and more secure ships.”
This is the second time the prize is awarded. The first time was in 2007, when the prize was presented to Shipowner Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller.
