Simplification of reporting requirements for ships calling at EU ports

07. July 2010
Agreement has been reached by the Council and the European Parliament on a proposal for a directive simplifying the reporting requirements for ships calling at EU ports.

The new regulations will replace the current directive on reporting formalities and will apply from early 2012.

The purpose of the directive is, among other things, to limit the information reported several times to various authorities. At the core of the proposal is, furthermore, a requirement for phasing-out paper reporting and phasing-in electronic reporting of information as of 1 June 2015.

More information is available here.
