The Danish Maritime Authority participates in large conference in Copenhagen on more environmentally-friendly shipping
This week, a number of companies and organisations within the development of greener shipping will get together.

The next two days, Copenhagen will be hosting the 7th Green Ship Technology Conference. At the conference, Danish and foreign companies and organisations will meet to present and discuss future green solutions in global shipping. In addition, there will be a number of events at the conference, for example prize for the most innovative and green technology in shipping will be presented.
The Danish Maritime Authority takes part in the conference, where we will present the Danish project “Green Ship of the Future”. Within the project, a partnership has been established between a number of Danish companies and organisations, including the Danish Maritime Authority. The purpose is to facilitate the development of green technology in the maritime field. The cooperation has worked for two years and, at the conference, we will look back at some of the great results achieved so far.
At the conference, a number of relevant subjects will be debated, covering issues from ship design over environmentally-friendly scrapping to regulations on the reduction of ships’ CO2 emissions. In this connection, the Danish Maritime Authority will take part in a panel debate on CO2 emissions where the possibilities and challenges will be discussed in a global perspective.
The conference, which is held Tuesday-Wednesday 17-18 March 2010 at the Radisson Blue Scandinavian Hotel in Copenhagen, is arranged by the British company Informa Maritime Events.
