The Maritime Denmark consists of skilful innovators
Several honours bestowed on a new lifeboat concept.

Danish shipping and the Danish marine equipment industry are among the very best when it comes to creating new solutions and further developing existing products.
Most recently, a Danish company, Nadiro, has received both Danish and international prizes for creating a new lifeboat concept. Thus, the company received both the Safety at Sea Equipment prize in London and the Engineering Product Development Prize (Ingeniørernes Produktudviklingspris) in late June.
Another field where the Blue Denmark is a frontrunner is the development of more environmentally friendly solutions. This work is brought together in the project entitled Green Ship of the Future, see the theme on our webpage.
Head of Centre Mogens Schrøder Bech from the Danish Maritime Authority stresses that it is not the first time that Danish innovation within the maritime field receives great attention:
“In Denmark, there is a well-developed sense of thinking new thoughts and creating exciting solutions. It is my firm belief that innovation and new thinking are to bring Danish shipping and the Danish marine equipment industry forwards. Here, it is important to use all the sources available; the students at the maritime training institutions who come fresh to a problem over the employees of the companies and marine equipment industry to the researchers at the educational institutions and universities. An important condition for creating innovation is also cross-sectoral cooperation and networking, and this is where we differ from many other countries.”
