Unlimited admission to advanced maritime training programmes
The Government’s budget for 2008 proposes to introduce unlimited admission to the training programmes as ships’ officers and marine engineers.
Previously all qualified applicants have been accepted. However, due to the demand in maritime industry for marine engineers and ships’ officers, the Government now wishes to remove any potential barrier for increased recruitment. The unlimited admission scheme will be assessed in 2009.
