Denmark pushes for more administrative relief for the benefit of the shipping industry

In the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the Danish Maritime Authority strives to reduce any trouble and disturbance affecting the industry. At a recent meeting in the IMO, the Danish Maritime Authority presented a proposal for a complete scrutiny of existing regulations in order to lean and weed out.

A main element in the proposal is a scrutiny of all existing IMO regulations with a view to identifying administrative burdens and reducing them or – if possible – completely removing them.

In Denmark, we focus on making it easy and convenient for the shipping industry. Unnecessary paperwork must be removed. Today, there are regulations that are superfluous and requirements that it can be made easier to meet. We would rather that the shipping companies spend their resources on health, safety and the environment than on trivial administration.
