The relocation of the Danish Maritime Authority to Korsør is a part of the Government’s plan to move Government jobs to other parts of the country.

Today, the Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs takes part in the inauguration of the Danish Maritime Authority’s new headquarters in Korsør together with, inter alia, the Mayor of the Municipality of Slagelse and the Director General and CEO of Danish Shipping.

Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Brian Mikkelsen:
” I am pleased that the Danish Maritime Authority has now moved to Korsør. It is important for the employees of the Danish Maritime Authority that they now have a solid foundation for the future. And for the town of Korsør, the Danish Maritime Authority’s arrival to the town means new jobs and a prospect of growth. Already now, we can see a great interest in the jobs that have been posted in connection with the relocation, and the Danish Maritime Authority has hired many new employees who are living in Western Zealand and on Funen.”

The Danish Maritime Authority’s relocation to Korsør is part of the Government’s plan to create a Denmark in balance by moving Government jobs closer to the citizens and businesses.

Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Brian Mikkelsen:
”Korsør was an obvious choice in connection with the relocation of the Danish Maritime Authority. Korsør is a town with a solid maritime history. Not least because of its location at one of the world’s most densely trafficked straits, the Great Belt, which is passed by thousands of ships every year. Therefore, everybody will profit from the opening of the headquarters of the Danish Maritime Authority in Korsør.”

For the time being, the Danish Maritime Authority has moved into temporary premises at Fjordvænget 30, DK-4220 Korsør, until the final headquarters are ready. So far, 50 employees have moved in, and this figure will increase gradually until all employees have their workplace in Korsør in 2019.
