Once again, the Danish Maritime Authority will host a number of seminars on Port State Control (PSC) inspections for shore-based and ship-based employees as well as anyone working to improve PSC performances onboard Danish ships.

The purpose is to engage in a dialogue on onboard safety and on how ships can prepare for PSC inspections.

PSC inspections and concentrated inspection campaigns

The Danish Maritime Authority’s PSC officers will talk about PSC inspections from the authority’s point of view and with a focus on onboard safety. We will go through the most common deficiencies found in PSC inspections and present the results from last year’s concentrated inspection campaign on Navigational Safety. We will also look toward this year’s concentrated inspection campaign on MARPOL Annex VI.

Moreover, the Danish Maritime Authority will update guests on contemporary topics, such as new rules and the impact these might have on Danish ships.

Avoid unnecessary deficiencies and become even better at supporting the crew

The meeting is an opportunity to exchange experiences gained from PSC inspections. We would like to hear your experiences as well – good and bad – so we can learn from each other.

Together, we will discuss how to improve safety and thereby avoid deficiencies and detentions as well as how the shore-based organization can best support the crew in connection with PSC inspections.

The meetings will be held:

In Valby on 13 June from 10 am to 2 pm at the Danish Maritime Authority, Carl Jacobsens Vej 31 in Valby.
In Svendborg on 26 June from 10 am to 2 pm at SIMAC, Graaesvej 27 in Svendborg.
In Aalborg on 28 June from 10 am to 2 pm at Comwell, Vesterbro 2 in Aalborg.

The meeting in Copenhagen (Valby) will be held in English, whereas the meetings in Svendborg and Aalborg will be in Danish. A maximum of two people per shipping company can attend.
