MLC inspections

The purpose of the MLC is to secure seafarers' conditions of employment, employment contracts, repatriation right, occupational health and social security.

Conditions of employment

Here you can, as a seafarer or fisherman, get an overview of the provisions regulating the conditions of employment on board the ship.

Complaints about working and livings conditions

Here seafarers and fishermen will find guidelines for complaints about working and living conditions.

MLC certificate

All cargo and passengers ships with a gross tonnage of or above 500 engaged on international voyages are required to be MLC certified.

Occupational health

The Danish Maritime Authority is the point of contact of the two occupational health services for seafarers and fishermen, respectively. Read more about the initiatives taken by the Danish Maritime Authority in this field.

Medical examinations

Seafarers and fishermen must be subjected to regular medical examinations in order to be able to work on board Danish ships.
