In the recently published Paris MoU White List, Denmark has secured a top position once more. The White List ranks flag states based on the performance of their ships during port State controls. Only three flag states have achieved a higher ranking than Denmark.
At the same time, the U.S. Coast Guard has announced that Denmark has been approved for another year in the exclusive Qualship 21 program. Only a select few flag states worldwide achieve this status. The approval is based on Danish ships consistently demonstrating strong results in U.S. port State controls—with few or no detentions.
Danish shipping is characterized by quality and safety. That Denmark remains among the leading nations on the Paris MoU White List in 2026 is the result of close collaboration between shipping companies, crews, and authorities. It shows that our efforts to maintain high standards in safety, environmental protection, and working conditions for seafarers are paying off, says Martin Hvid John, Director of Ship Survey and Certification at the Danish Maritime Authority.
