Market surveillance of marine equipment

The Danish Maritime Authority is the market surveillance authority for equipment placed, or intended to be placed, on board an EU ship, pursuant to Directive 2014/90/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 on marine equipment and repealing Council Directive 96/98/EC.

As a result of the market surveillance carried out by us, as well as by our European colleagues in the other Member States, equipment is occasionally withdrawn from the European market because it does not comply with the applicable requirements

Through Safety Gate, consumers, shipowners, and other stakeholders can access the complete list of all withdrawn products, including those covered by the Marine Equipment Directive. You can also subscribe and thereby receive weekly updates on withdrawn products.

In addition, via ICSMS you can obtain an overview of products that have been examined on the European market.
