Requirements for the crew on board fishing vessels with a length below 15 metres
Fishing vessels with a length between 15 and 45 metres
The same requirements as for fishing vessels with a length below 15 metres (see above).
On vessels with a length between 15 and 45 metres, there must be a master and a mate holding certificates of competency in accordance with the table below:

If the vessels in the table above have:
- an output between 100 kW and 750 kW
- and are capable of making propeller operations and regulating the engine from the conning position
there must:
- in limited waters be a person holding a certificate of competency in motor operation
- and in unlimited waters be two persons holding certificates of competency in motor operation.
These persons can be employed for other service on board.
The Danish Maritime Authority determines the safe manning of the engine crew for other fishing vessels with an output of or above 100 kW.
Fishing vessels with a length of or above 45 metres
On fishing vessels with a length of or above 45 metres, the Danish Maritime Authority determines the manning after having received an application from the relevant shipowner or company.
